International Conference on “The Humanities Today: Global and Social Responsibilities”

The ICSSR sponsored International Conference on “The Humanities Today: Global and Social Responsibilities” was organized by the Department of English Literature and Language at IIS (deemed to be) University. The Inaugural Session commenced with a cordial welcome address delivered by the Hon’ble Registrar, Prof. Raakhi Gupta, followed by an address by the Dean, School of Humanities, Prof. Ila Joshi. The highlight of the session was the Opening Remarks by Dr. Rajeswari Sunder Rajan, a globally recognized scholar with extensive experience in postcolonial studies and feminist theory. The Keynote Session featured an engaging conversation with Prof. Saikat Majumdar, a distinguished Novelist, Critic, and Professor of English & Creative Writing at Ashoka University. A gracious vote of thanks was extended by the Conference Convenor & Organizing Secretary, Prof. Rimika Singhvi, acknowledging the collective efforts of all involved in orchestrating the event. The two-day conference held on 16 and17 February was attended by professors, research scholars, and students from various higher education institutions to discuss the most recent developments, challenges, and opportunities in the field of humanities and deliberate on newer strategies for the proliferation of literature studies.
