Objective: 

Course Objectives:

The course will enable the students to:

  • To explain how to develop the skills of literary appreciation of poetry and prose to the students.
  • To introduce them to the terminology, tools and techniques associated with literary research
  • To demonstrate the various writing skills required for different purposes along with the tactics of how to make a text coherent, cohesive, engaging and expressive.

 

Course Outcomes -

The students will:

  • Develop an insight into literary elements and identify the use of figures of speech in poetry and prose
  • Acquire an understanding of the key elements of research-based writing, viz. reading, evaluating sources, and developing an argument
  •  Acquire the understanding of research design and methodology to produce a coherent and logically-argued written report by looking at the original texts through the lens of the secondary sources
  • Implement  the linguistic skills and research acumen acquired to produce well knitted written work
