The students will:

  1. Analyze the recent trends in contemporary British literature
  2. Develop an insight into contemporary British prose and fiction; their salient features, literary movements and trends
  3. Critique the works of the representative writers in terms of their style and treatment
  4. Appraise the emergence and growth of the Contemporary British Literature and the unique characteristics of the texts and the authors
  5. Chart out the complex and interconnecting intellectual currents of the canonical sage-writing, exploring social reportage and scientific treatises
