The Course will enable the students to explain how to develop the skills of literary appreciation of poetry and prose to the students, to introduce them to the terminology, tools and techniques associated with literary research and to demonstrate the various writing skills required for different purposes along with the tactics of how to make a text coherent, cohesive, engaging and expressive.
The students will: CO37. Develop an understanding of the nuances of academic writing (Precis and Theme) CO38. Investigate and explain literary elements and identify the use of figures of speech in poetry CO39. Investigate and explain literary elements and identify the use of figures of speech in prose CO40. Explore the key elements of research-based writing, viz. reading, evaluating sources, and developing an argument CO41. Identify a suitable research design and methodology to produce a coherent and logically-argued written work, using the MLA style sheet CO42. Contribute effectively to course-specific interaction. |
