The Department of English Literature and Language at the IIS (deemed to be University) organized an Alumna Session on “Degree in Literature and the Way Forward” on October 15th. The session commenced with a welcome address delivered by Dr. Purobi Sen. The guest speaker was Khushi Khandelwal, from the class of 2020. Khushi shared her academic journey and preparation strategies for competitive exams like CUET, UGC-NET, and RPSC.
She also acknowledged and addressed the challenges students face while preparing for these exams, such as the pressure of studying continuously, completing the vast syllabus, negative thoughts, and the fear of failure. And to overcome these challenges, she advised having faith in the divine power. Khushi also touched upon the alternative options students can pursue with a degree in English Literature like content writing, creative writing, screen-writing, journalism, and translation jobs as well. The session concluded with a Q/A session and a vote of thanks by Dr. Purobi Sen.
