The Readers' Club Activity: Flash Fiction
The Readers' Club of the Dept. of English organized a Flash-Fiction writing activity on 22nd August 2019 for all the students of the University from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Dr. Rimika Singhvi, Head, Department of English apprised the students on the nitty-gritty involved with flash-fiction. The activity opened with an orientation of the students to the various categories of micro-fiction to create short and gripping narratives in about hundred words on any of the genres of dystopia, romance, Sci-Fi, Crime/Mystery, Fantasy, Humour or Mythology. The activity registered scholastic and enthusiastic participation of thirty-one students. The pensive symphony further attuned the prompts for the lightning round wherein the students were asked to incorporate their incisive impressions ranging from a dramatic moment to an alter-reality experience in about fifty words. The young scholars found the activity to be an enriching experience of not just penning down their memories but registering their emotions and dreams of evolving into engrossing authors of the times.
