Readers’ Club: "The Lit Lounge"

The Department of English Literature and Language in collaboration with Ellipsis – the Literary and Debating Society, hosted an intellectually stimulating event titled "The Lit Lounge" on January 23. This engaging literary activity featured two primary competitions: the Literary Crossword and Pitch a Book. Designed to inspire literary enthusiasm and encourage creative expression, these activities provided an interactive and enjoyable platform for students to showcase their knowledge and passion for literature.

The first activity, Literary Crossword, challenged participants to demonstrate their literary knowledge and problem-solving skills. Designed to test their familiarity with authors, literary movements, famous works, and essential literary terminology, the crossword puzzle provided an exhilarating challenge that engaged participants in critical thinking. The second activity, Pitch a Book, provided students with a platform to share and promote their favorite books in a compelling and persuasive manner. Each participant was given 2–3 minutes to present their chosen book, making a strong case for why their peers should read it. The objective was to encourage literary discussions and recommendations while honing participants' public speaking and persuasive communication skills.
