The Department of English Literature and Language at the IIS (deemed to be) University organized an online Enrichment Lecture on “New Horizons in Literary Interpretation: Intersectionality and the Interdisciplinary Space”, for its students, research scholars, and faculty members on 14th November. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Abhisarika Prajapati, Associate Professor and Head, Department of English, School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Reva University, Bengaluru. The session commenced with a formal introduction of the speaker, highlighting her successful endeavour and past achievements, delivered by Dr. Sanghmitra Rathore, Assistant Professor, Department of English Literature and Language.
Dr. Prajapati talked about various lenses to view literature with a different perspective with a special emphasis on the concepts of Intersectionality and Interdisciplinary theories of literature. The lecture was highly enriching and intellectually stimulating as it made the audience familiar with the literary theories and further opened up to future horizons of literary interpretation. The session concluded with an interactive segment between the speaker and the attendees of the lecture. After this, Dr. Rathore formally extended gratitude towards Dr. Prajapati for the interesting session and Dr. Rimika Singhvi, Head of the Department and Director of Humanities, extended a formal vote of thanks to her and all the participants of the session.
