Enrichment Lecture – Feminism and the Indian Cultural Context

The Department of English organised an Enrichment Lecture on 3 August 2018 on the topic Feminism and the Indian Cultural Context. The session was led by Prof. Pankaj K. Singh, formerly Chairperson, Dept. of English, and Dean, Faculty of Languages, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Dr. Singh substantiated her viewpoint that literature is being re-read from women’s point of view to interrogate patriarchy. She also used a PPT presentation to point specifically at the marked differences in the offered perspectives of female and male appearances, and the implied meanings of such images.
