The Department of English Literature and Language (IIS Deemed to be University), organized an online Alumni interaction "Widening Horizons: From Campus to Career", as a part of a regular series of experience-sharing sessions on 31st Aug 2024. The speaker for the same was Ms. Disha Chugh, Gold medalist, class of 2021. Disha is currently working as an Associate Production Editor at Sage Publications in Delhi and pursuing a professional training in dance, out of passion. She talked about her academic and professional journey so far, from initially being a science student to switching her major to pursue B.A (Hons.) and M.A in Literature.

Professionally, Disha began working as a technical writer in a consultant company during COVID-1 while pursuing her master’s degree. Her hard work resulted in her being promoted to Training manager of Learning and Development. Sharing her work experiences, she emphasized on the importance of collaboration, teamwork while solving case studies, and the process of creating a project from developing a manuscript or outline of an event to finally publishing it. Throughout her journey, Disha learned the importance of self-belief and adaptability, as her career path was a roller coaster ride. She encouraged all to look at opportunities, believe in oneself and support others. The session ended with a vote of thanks by the faculty members of the department who wished her good luck in her future endeavours. It was an informative, interactive and fruitful session for all the attendees.
