The wider scope of English can be traced in her journey as she pursued her career in Advertising as a content writer. The speaker made the distinction between Journalism and Advertising. The difference between the writing styles of both platforms was also discussed. She also discussed the significance of the power of Words in our lives. Words are the sole basis through which we’re able to grab the attention of the reader. The creativity and originality in placing the words in the right position is the essence of the work. It’s necessary to learn every day and from everything because in the end every bit of your knowledge counts in. The challenge of conveying your thought in a few words instead of long paragraphs is the most difficult job for a writer. This is the reason why an individual should focus on their vocabulary and the play of words. To make your wordplay strong, it is essential to read and write more to gain more knowledge about various aspects. Brevity and clarity in your writing are the keys to success. As it is said, Brevity is the soul of the wit. It’s important to be brief and concise in your writing and that is attained only through practice. The writer needs to clench the meaning and hit the bullseye with their writing skills.
The session was then followed by a question and answer round in which the students and staff were allowed to ask their questions from the speaker. The session was enriching for all the participants and gave an opportunity to look at the other horizons of the subject.
