Achievements

2011 - 2012

Faculty:
1) Dr. Rimika Singhvi won a tuition scholarship from the Regional English Language Office of the U.S. Embassy, New Delhi, India, for a professional development online EFL Teacher-Training 10-week Course on Critical Thinking Skills titled "Critical Thinking in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Curriculum" offered by the American English Institute of the University of Oregon, U.S.A. from 26 Sept.-2 Dec. 2011.

2) Dr. Rimika Singhvi has international certification in professional English Language Tests- the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) - offered by the University of Cambridge, U.K.

Students:
One of our students from B.A. (Honours) – Garima Poonia – was among the Top 15 candidates selected at the Regional level to participate in the Cambridge ESOL ‘Best Speaker of Cambridge English in Asia’ Competition 2011 on the basis of her high score in the third level Business English Certificates (BEC) Higher Tests of English, esp. in the Speaking Test in March 2011. In the next level of competition held at British Council, New Delhi, she figured in the Top 3 out of 20 competing participants drawn regionally. Garima was finally shortlisted for the National Finals held in Chennai in April 2012.

2012 - 2013

Faculty:

1) Dr. Rimika Singhvi won a tuition scholarship for a ten-week online Teacher Training course from the University of Oregon, U.S.A., through the Regional English Language Office of the U.S. Embassy, New Delhi, from Sept.-Dec. '12.

2) Dr. Rimika Singhvi was awarded a "Certificate of Appreciation" by The IIS University, Jaipur, in recognition of praiseworthy contribution in the field of academics and research towards academic excellence.
 

2013-14:

Faculty:

1) Dr. Rimika Singhvi won the Best Paper award for her research paper entitled "A Manifesto of Desire: Experiencing the Self through the Body, in the Poetry of Kamala Das", published in Contemporary Discourse: A Peer-Reviewed International Journal, Vol. 4, Issue 2 of July '13.

2) Dr. Rimika Singhvi was awarded a "Certificate of Appreciation" by The IIS University, Jaipur, in recognition of praiseworthy contribution in the field of academics and research towards academic excellence.

Students:

1) Ruchi Sharma, Ph.D. Scholar in English, won the "Researcher of the Year" award at the Annual Awards Ceremony of The IIS University, Jaipur, in March, '14.

2014-15:

Faculty:

1) Dr. Rimika Singhvi presented a paper at the 7th Global Conference on "Diasporas" held at Mansfield College, University of Oxford, U.K., from 5-7 July '14.

2) Dr. Rimika Singhvi was awarded a "Certificate of Excellence" by the Rotary International District 3052 for dedicated service to Rotary and the community,  in June '15.
 
3) Dr. Rimika Singhvi was awarded a "Certificate of Appreciation" by The IIS University, Jaipur, in recognition of praiseworthy contribution in the field of academics and research towards academic excellence.
 
4) Dr. Rimika Singhvi was awarded on behalf of The IIS University, Jaipur, for being instrumental in the institution being adjudged the "Preparation Centre of the Year" by the Cambridge English Office of the University of Cambridge, U.K..
 
Students:
 
1) Garima Poonia B.A. (Hons.) English, was selected for the "Young India Fellowship" 2014-15 programme in New Delhi. She was among 100 students chosen from across India to go through a one-year Experimental Learning Module, on full scholarship, focusing on writing and communication, art appreciation, social activism, consultancy and research.
 
2) Chandna Singh Nirwan ( ICG/2008/8319) cleared NET Dec. 2015.
 

2015-16:

Faculty:

1) Dr. Rimika Singhvi was awarded on behalf of The IIS University, Jaipur, for being instrumental in the institution being adjudged the "Preparation Centre of the Year" by the Cambridge English Office of the University of Cambridge, U.K.

2016-17:

Faculty:

1) Dr. Rimika Sunghvi Presented a Paper entitled “Linguistic Hybridity and Comparatism”, at the 21st Annual World Congress of the International Comparative Literature Association (ICLA) on "The Many Languages of Comparative Literature", organized at the University of Vienna, Austria, on 21-27 July 2016; also, invited to Chair a Session on “Comparatists at Work: Professional Communication”.

2) Dr. Shruti Rawal was invited as a Resource Person for One day Workshop on Research Methodology on 10th May 2017  at Sophia College, Ajmer,Raj.

3) Dr. Shruti Rawal acted as a Resource Person in Faculty Development Programme on Communication Skills and Personality Development from 1-13 May at Sophia Girls' College, Ajmer, Raj.

2017-18

Faculty:

1)Dr. Rimika Singhvi chaired a Session and presented a Paper entitled “Language Identity and Locational Difference: Narrativizing the Nation in South Asian Literature”, at the 8th International Conference on “Language, Innovation, Culture and Education” (ICLICE), organized by the Interdisciplinary Circle of Science, Arts and Innovation (ICSAI), London, UK, on 16-17 October 2017  .

2)Dr. Shruti Rawal was invited as a Resource person at the International Conference on Diaspora , Multiculturalisn and Quest for Identity from 17-19 Feb. 2018 organized by Sophia College, Ajmer, Raj. She also presented a paper on " Mapping Memories and Boundaries of Bengali Refugees through Amitav Ghosh's The Hungry Tide".

3) Dr. Shruti Rawal delivered an Enrichment Lecture on Research Methodology on 5 Aug. 2018 at Sophia Girls College, Ajmer.

4) Dr. Rani Rathore was invited as a Chief Guest on 17 Aug. 2017 to commemorate the  "Radcliffe Line" at JNU, Jaipur. She also presented a paper on Partition Literature.

2018-19

Faculty:

1) Dr. Rimika Singhvi  presented a Paper entitled “Marginal Histories and the Rhetoric of Assimilation: The Anglo-Indian Situation in Trikal” at an International Conference on “Moving Beyond the Margins: The Politics of Exclusion and Assimilation”, organized by Department of English, School of Humanities and Languages, Central University of Rajasthan, on 15-16 November 2018; also, invited to Chair a Session on “The Case of North East India”.

 2) Dr. Rimika Singhvi  represented the Winning team as Tutor at an International Student Debating Competition, organized by the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) in Bangkok, from 15 to 20 October 2018.
 
 3) Dr. Rimika Singhvi was invited to deliver a Plenary Talk on "Pedagogy Within the Space of Digital Humanities: The Uneasy Relationship between Globalization and Education" at an International Conference on “Globalisation, Literature and Culture”, organized by Higher Education and Research Society, Mumbai, on  7-8 September 2018.

4) Dr. Rimika Sinhvi received a “Certificate of Appreciation” for co-ordinating Cambridge English’s BEC Exams organized by the University of Cambridge, UK, in July 2018.

 5) Dr. Rimika Sinhvi  chaired a Session and presented a Paper entitled “Of Memories and More: Physical Landscape and Emotional Cartography in Imtiaz Dharker's Selected Poetry” at the 17th International MELOW Conference on 'Space, Place and Landscape in Literatures of the World', organized by Department of English and European Languages, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, from 9 to 11 April 2018.

 6) Dr. Rimika Singhvi was   invited as an Expert to deliver a Talk on "Women Leaders: Roles and Positions" and received a "Certificate of Excellence" for significant contribution in Academics, at a National Conference on "Women in Leadership: Expanding Horizons", organized by Compucom Institute of Information Technology & Management, Jaipur, on 6 April ‘18.

7) Dr. Rimika Singhvi   presented a Paper entitled “Masculinities in the Time of Global Feminisms: Reading Hanif Kureishi’s Selected Short Fiction” at an International Conference on ‘Feminist and Gender Studies in a Global Perspective’, organized by NEA, Puducherry, from 8 to 11 March 2018; also, invited to Chair a Session on “Remembering the 1947 Partition in Canada”.
