Objective: 
The course will enable the students to:
Understand and interpret Shakespearean plays by introducing the students to the dramatic conventions of the Elizabethan Age
Comprehend the key terms, concepts and dramatic genres in Shakespeare's plays
Undertake a close textual analysis of Shakespeare’s sonnets
Interpret and critique the sonnets within an academic argument
 
Learning Outcomes-
The students will be able to:
Gain an understanding of Shakespeare’s use of literary and linguistic conventions in his plays and sonnets
Make critical appraisals that reflect the ability to assess ideas and themes in the original texts, using  secondary sources
