Objective: 

Course Objecties:

The course will enable the students to:

  • Explain the modern English grammatical structures and their application
  • Examine the basic concepts of phonetics, word-stress and formations
  • Develop strong compositional skills.

Course Outcomes -

The students will:

  • Develop a practical understanding of the various technical aspects of the English language
  • Examine phonetics and phonology for a better understanding of the organs of speech, phonemic symbols, classification of vowels and consonants, and syllable-stress
  • Develop a deeper knowledge of the nuances  of grammar and the importance of four skills, viz. reading, writing, listening and speaking.
  • Critique longer pieces of discourse independently with an advanced knowledge of different strategies of comprehension
