The Sixth all India IISU English Debate was held on 2 February 2019. The topic of the debate was “Skill Acquisition is more important that Domain Knowledge”. The Universities and Colleges across the state participated in the debate. The judging panel included Ms. Vidhu Sood, Indian Audit Accounts Service, Jaipur, Ms. Purva Gera, Leader for Banking, Genpact, Jaipur and Mr. Kartik Bajoria, Writer, Columnist, Educator and Literary Moderator, Jaipur. The Chairperson at the Debate was Ms. Mugdha Sinha, IAS, Jaipur.
At the outset, the Debate Co-ordinator Dr. Rimika Singhvi formally welcomed all, thereafter the Debate was declared open by the Chairperson. The participants for the motion and against presented their views in a quite impressive manner. They emphasized their points by citing apt examples from day to day life. On the one hand the participants for the motion stressed on the importance of skill by highlighting that skill is like a key used in opening a door of fortune. On the other hand the participants against the motion emphasized that skill without knowledge is useless. And for any successful career both knowledge and skill are equally required. Thus the debate ended on an open note.
After the debate, the judges and Chairperson of the event addressed the gathering.
The results of the debate was announced by the Chairperson Ms. Mugdha Sinha.
The Best speaker first position was bagged by F1 Ms. Ashi Goyal (The IISU, Jaipur), second position went to A3 Ms. Shubhangi Sharma, Banasthali Vidyapith and the third best speaker was given to F5 Mr. Prashant Mishra, Subodh P.G. College, Jaipur.
The IIS University, Jaipur was announced the winning team. Since it was the host University, so the trophy went to Banasthali Vidyapeeth, Jaipur. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Rimika Singhvi, the Debate Coordinator.
