The Department of English organized an Enrichment Lecture on the topic – Emerging Areas of Research in Literature – on 7 March 2020. The speaker for the event was Dr. Seema Malik, Professor and former Head, Department of English, Dean, Research, and Chairperson, Faculty of Humanities, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. Dr. Malik spoke at length on the contemporary trends in literature, covering aspects such as the democratization of literature, intellectual insurgency and research trends in the contemporary Indian context, while also introducing elements of intertextuality and intersectionality. It was a highly informative and engaging session and was greatly enjoyed by all, several of the audience being moved to ask questions before the close of the session.
