Objective: 

The course will enable the students to:

  • Prepare themselves for writing a full-fledged Dissertation by following the proposed chapter-plan, as outlined in the Synopsis
  • Adopt an interdisciplinary and comparative approach to literary research
  • Develop a research aptitude for applying theoretical frameworks to their analysis and discussion

Course Learning Outcomes

The students will be able to:

  • Gain a complete understanding of the technical aspects of academic writing and documentation
  • Develop critical thinking skills and work within a theoretical framework in literary research
  • Organize and deliver an engaging research-based work carried out over a year
 
The students will undertake a project chosen by them in consultation with their supervisors. The paper will be presented in a Seminar and a draft copy of it will be submitted before the Semester End Examination. 
The Division of marks will be as follows:
 
• Internal Evaluation (Continuous Assessment)- 30 Marks, on the basis of:
• Regularity
• Review of Literature 
• Contact with the Supervisor
• Originality of the work
 
• Seminar & Viva-Voce-70 (50+20) Marks
There will be a Subject-Expert and two Departmental Examiners, one of whom will be  the Supervisor
